FYI there is a judo tourment coming up next weekend. 10/15.
Even If you don't feel like you're ready to compete, going to watch will have some value. Let one of us know if you want to go.

Fall 2011

I'm Jacob I usually instruct the club classes, at VCU.
This Fall we'll practice on Sundays (4-6) and Mondays (6-9), at the Franklin street Gym (http://www.maps.vcu.edu/monroepark/franklinstgym/).

For the newcomers: We are on the 3rd floor. Its a wired building - go the top floor then turn right and go back up another short flight of steps, through the door, and back down some steps. Go straight down the short hall in front of you and into the gym at the end of it. (we should really put up some signs)

Anyway come on down and check us out. If you don't have a gi, no big deal. You can give it a "test drive" without one before you buy one.

I'll change that in the side bar as soon as I can figure out how... anybody know how?

Congratulations are in order!

Congratulations to Jacob Powell for his promotion to Shodan!  Jacob has been a tremendous influence in the VCU Judo club and I, for one, look forward to his continued success as both a teacher and learner of judo.

Also, congratulations to Jesse Claypoole.  Not only has he been elected as the club president for 2011-2012, but he has also advanced to the rank of Ikkyu!

I look forward to practicing with you both in the coming year!

Super Bowl Sunday

Hey everyone,

Just to let everyone know we will not have practice on Sunday February the 6th because of the Super Bowl. I polled the class last Sunday and most people said they couldn't make it so for that reason we will cancel practice.
